Industrial Landscape Photography

Industrial Landscape Photography

Saturday 06 June
North Docks - 10am - 2 Hours
Valentina Passerini
We will be starting with an overview of landscape photography technique, how to decide what to take a picture of and how to compose shots, we will then move into settings and more technical challenges to get an idea of when the camera behaves best for landscapes.

You can use buildings and other man-made structures compositionally in the same way other landscape photographers use trees and rolling hills. Wind farms, harbours, cement works, power stations, quarries, pylons and building sites are just a few of the industrial landscapes you can photograph. The Liverpool docks are the perfect setting for this kind of photography meetup.

Good location for subject (if extremely windy!). Presenter/instructor approachable and knowledgeable - and started/finished on time. Only issue for me was limited learning (given my experience) - not the fault of presenter who did have some suggestions on different shots to try to capture.

    Title or Location: Glencoe Scotland.
In the 70s and 80s I climbed many of the peaks in Glencoe. Now at 70 I am happier to photograph them. This was my second visit to the river Etive and as it turned out it was even more spectacular than the previous visit. In case you didn't know this is the same road they use in the film Skyfall. Glencoe tends to grab all the glory but my advice would be take time to travel down this road following the river Etive to the loch. In the right conditions high tide and no wind the photo opportunities
