We will be starting with an overview of landscape photography technique, how to decide what to take a picture of and how to compose shots, we will then move into settings and more technical challenges to get an idea of when the camera behaves best for landscapes.

You can use buildings and other man-made structures compositionally in the same way other landscape photographers use trees and rolling hills. Wind farms, harbours, cement works, power stations, quarries, pylons and building sites are just a few of the industrial landscapes you can photograph. Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Liverpool .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

    The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

    As I was visiting the Anglican Cathedral I thought I'd visit the cemetery next door as haven't been there for some time. To enter the cemetery I had to pass through this short sandstone tunnel lined with old gravestones. The cemetery and gardens are well worth a visit as the historic headstones give a wonderful insight into the people of Liverpool both rich and poor from many years ago.

    "if you could see, what the iron men see, when all others sleep"As photographers we can get up in early hours of the day or sit out in the dark all night to capture that one shot that nobody else was around to capture.     I visited Anthony Gormley's installation at Blundellsands in the middle of October as I knew there was a photograph to be made. I walked the beach as the sun began to set into a bank of cloud, knowing time was limited but knowing that patience and timing would count.     Dearing the eclipse of 2017 my family and I sat in our backyard here in WA to watch the 93 totality with our eclipse glasses. With my homemade solar filter attached to my camera, I took a series of photos of the sun during the eclipse. After processing my sun photos, I was disappointed to see that the moon only showed up as a black hole and not its proper form. I am an avid shooter of Astro photography and have several photos of the moon taken from my backyard and multiple other locations. I

    I took this image on Nov. 2, 2021 at 7 am on Nov. 2, 2001 at 7 am. As I was driving around the Cove I came upon this Buck as I came up over a rise. I had a feeling that he was about to cross the road. My hunch was right. He crossed one fence and eventually crossed the other one. I was ready for his movement. I took a series over shots.
